Passing of the 麻豆社 SSO's Leader Laura Samuel
It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Laura Samuel, Leader of the 麻豆社 Scottish Symphony Orchestra since 2012, at the age of 48. This is an incredibly difficult day for all who admired and loved her. Everyone at the 麻豆社 SSO sends their deepest sympathies to Laura’s family at this time.
Laura was an exceptional musician, leading the orchestra with insight and an indomitable spirit. Her unwavering character and generosity touched everyone who knew her, and the courage and composure she displayed during her illness was both inspiring and humbling.
Laura will be deeply missed by us all and audiences across Scotland and beyond. The impact of her artistry and spirit will continue to resonate with the many lives she touched. We plan to honour Laura’s memory together in due course.
