Come Fly With Me to take off for second series

Â鶹Éç One's brand new, hit comedy from Matt Lucas and David Walliams, Come Fly With Me, has been recommissioned for a second series by Danny Cohen, Controller Â鶹Éç One, and Cheryl Taylor, Controller, Comedy Commissioning.

Set in a busy airport, the six-part series currently airing on Â鶹Éç One and filmed in "mockumentary" style, features many characters, all played by Matt and David, plus special guest appearances including David Schwimmer and Rupert Grint.

Danny Cohen, Controller Â鶹Éç One said: "Come Fly With Me has been a huge hit with audiences. I can't wait to see what Matt and David will do with the second series."

Mark Freeland, Head of in-house Comedy at the Â鶹Éç: "After such a flying start on Â鶹Éç One, it’s great news that Matt Lucas and David Walliams will once again be filling the check-in desks, departure lounges and cockpits with their wonderful and weird characters."

The new series will return to Â鶹Éç One, although timings are yet to be decided while Matt and David fulfil other commitments.

Come Fly With Me is a Little Britain Productions/Â鶹Éç Production. Executive Producer for Little Britain Productions is Geoff Posner and Mark Freeland for Â鶹Éç Productions.

Come Fly With Me was the second highest performing show over the Christmas holiday period with 12.4 million/43.2 per cent – the highest comedy launch on Â鶹Éç One (since the new BARB contract 2001).

On New Year's Day, Come Fly With Me performed strongly again with 9 million/29.3 per cent.

Come Fly With Me broadcasting in its new regular slot of 9.00pm on Thursday, achieved 7.7 million/26.7 per cent beating the slot average of 5.4 million/20.8 per cent.

The first episode has now been viewed by more than 17 million across all platforms and transmissions.
