Â鶹Éç Hereford & Worcester smashes salsa world record

Â鶹Éç Hereford & Worcester's Andrew Easton heads the salsa line

With the help of hundreds of people from across the local community, Â鶹Éç Hereford & Worcester has yet again hot-stepped into the Guinness Book of Records.

At the weekend (Sunday 19 July) – following a last-minute shock discovery that plans to break the record for the world's biggest salsa class had been thwarted by Dancesport Team Cebu International Inc in the Philippines – the people of Hereford and Worcester rallied together at Sixways Stadium and formed the world's longest-ever salsa line and thus created a new world record with 418 people taking part.

James Coghill, Managing Editor, Â鶹Éç Hereford & Worcester, says: "I am delighted that Â鶹Éç Hereford and Worcester has broken yet another world record and helped raise money for Children In Need too."

He adds: "I would like to thank all our listeners and everyone who supported and attended the event.

"It was a truly impressive sight to see so many people in the line-up and the electric atmosphere at Sixways Stadium on Sunday really embodied the spirit of salsa."

It is not the first time that Â鶹Éç Hereford & Worcester has achieved a world record. In November, 2008, the station, along with 535 listeners, smashed the Guinness World Record for belly dancing, once again in aid of Â鶹Éç Children In Need.
