Lucy Adams appointed to lead Â鶹Éç People

The Â鶹Éç has appointed Lucy Adams as Director, Â鶹Éç People, the Corporation's human resources division. She will join the Â鶹Éç on 1 June 2009, succeeding Stephen Kelly who has left the Â鶹Éç to join Logica plc as Director of HR.

Lucy Adams is currently Director of HR at Eversheds LLP and was previously HR Director at the Serco Group plc.

In her new role, Lucy will be responsible for the full range of HR functions including training and development, resourcing, employee relations, reward, safety, organisation design and change management. She will lead a team of 475 HR, training and safety professionals.

The role also includes responsibility for the Â鶹Éç's outsourced HR services.

Lucy will become a member of the Â鶹Éç Executive Board.

Announcing the appointment, Â鶹Éç Director-General Mark Thompson said: "The Â鶹Éç can only achieve its goals of serving audiences through a strong, creative and well-motivated workforce. I believe Lucy has the energy, vision and the right experience to help us achieve this."

Lucy Adams has most recently been Director of HR at the international legal firm Eversheds LLP. Prior to this she spent nine years at Serco Group plc, starting as Change Director in the Rail Division prior to becoming the Group HR Director in 2004.

Lucy started her career in recruitment; she has worked as a lecturer in further education and led change programmes in the training and development sector as Head of Strategy and Development for North Yorkshire Training and Enterprise Council.
