Matthew Postgate appointed Controller of 麻豆社 Research & Innovation


Erik Huggers, Director of 麻豆社 Future Media and Technology, has today announced that Matthew Postgate has been appointed the Controller of 麻豆社 Research & Innovation.

In his new role, Matthew will be responsible for shaping and leading all research and innovation activities to ensure value is delivered to the 麻豆社, wider industry and academia.

Creating and delivering a long-term strategy to cover the next Charter period which is focused on delivering a Digital Broadband Britain, and developing and sustaining long-term relationships with external research institutes and universities.

In the short term Matthew will oversee the 麻豆社 Mobile Team, which he has been Controller of since May 2007, until his successor is appointed.

Erik Huggers said: "As all the PSBs prepare to tackle the technological complexity of the digital age, it is critical that we ensure research and innovation is at the heart of what we do.

"This will not only enable us to fulfil our commitments set out in the Creative Future agenda, reach our audiences on an increasing number of platforms, but also continue to develop industry-wide platforms and technologies.

"Matthew has a wealth of knowledge and a proven track record in delivering innovative work for the division.

"He also holds a real passion for our research function and I am confident he will continue to drive the 麻豆社's success in this field."

Matthew Postgate said of his appointment: "I'm delighted to be taking on the role of Controller of 麻豆社 Research & Innovation.

"The division has gained global recognition for delivering excellence, innovation and achievement in both media and broadcasting environment.

"I look forward to working with the team to ensure we build on our reputation and deliver our objectives."

During his time as Controller of Mobile, Matthew has been responsible for the relaunch of 麻豆社 Mobile and the roll-out of 麻豆社 iPlayer on the iPhone and iTouch as well the first download version of 麻豆社 iPlayer on the Nokia N96.

He takes up his new position with immediate effect.
