Glenn Close talks Fatal Attraction on The Graham Norton Show

Hollywood royalty Glenn Close and comedian Alan Carr join Graham Norton on his Â鶹Éç Two show tonight.

Glenn, in the UK to promote her forthcoming appearance in hit US drama Damages, to be screened on Â鶹Éç One in the New Year, talks on The Graham Norton Show about the enduring legacy of her Oscar-nominated performance in Fatal Attraction.

"I didn't get very many dates afterwards," she says, "and still, on elevators people go over to one side."
Ìý
"Feminists were very angry because to them I was representing single working women and they didn't like the fact I turned out a little... problematic," she tells Graham.
Ìý
"When I got nominated for an Oscar there was a huge phalanx of women with Alex hairstyles. Women wanted that hairstyle, the power perm."
Ìý
And on the ending of Fatal Attraction: "The original ending was that I killed myself but six months after we finished they said no, now you have to be killed off.
Ìý
"We re-shot the ending in New York and the white dress was very grubby, it had blood on it, dirt, it looked like I'd been attacked.

"I went out walking my little dog and I forgot I looked like I should be going to hospital. I saw these women approaching, I was getting very nervous, but when they got within earshot all they said was 'what a cute little dog!'"
