Â鶹Éç News: May 2007 election coverage


Â鶹Éç News will present comprehensive coverage of the May 2007 elections across the UK.

There are elections in Scotland for the Parliament and local authorities, for the Welsh Assembly and for about 10,000 council seats across England.

Ìý

In the run up to the polls, Â鶹Éç News on television, radio and online will set the scene for some of the most interesting elections in recent years.

Ìý

In Election Night (3 May, Â鶹Éç One and Â鶹Éç News 24, 11.35pm to 6am), David Dimbleby leads the Â鶹Éç team reporting live as the results come in with instant reaction from the winners and losers.

Ìý

Jeremy Vine conducts the virtual reality graphics, Nick Robinson and Jenny Scott will bring expert insight into what the results mean for the country and analysis of the results with heavyweight guests from all parties.

News 24 will be simulcasting the Election Night programme and in the run up to the polls Lorna Gordon in Scotland, Betsan Powys in Wales and James Landale in England will be reporting live from the locations that will shape the outcome.

Â鶹Éç Radio 4's election night programme features James Naughtie in Glasgow and Carolyn Quinn in London.

As the polls close at 10pm, Â鶹Éç Radio Five Live has all the local and national election news from across the country, in the Anita Anand Show.

Then from 1am on 4 May, Simon Mayo and John Pienaar present an election special for Radio Five Live.

Main news bulletins on Â鶹Éç One will be co-presented from Scotland and Wales at key points in the campaign and the Today programme on Radio 4 will have extensive coverage of all the results from across the UK.

The Politics Show is interviewing all of the main party leaders live starting with Tony Blair on 15 April. Daily Politics, This Week, Sunday AM and Question Time will all be exploring the issues that matter and speaking to the key players.

Â鶹Éç News Interactive will have a full service and all the results will be available through an interactive map of the UK.

Users will be able to find their own results quickly and easily via postcode searches and results will also be available live on Ceefax and digital TV.
