After You've Gone to return to 麻豆社 One

The recent successful 麻豆社 One comedy After You've Gone has been recommissioned for a second series of eight episodes with an additional Christmas special for transmission later this year.

During the seven-week transmission After You've Gone gained at least 1.5 million viewers, rising from 4.1 million to a peak audience of 5.8 million viewers.

The second series of After You've Gone will see sparks fly once more between Nicholas Lyndhurst (playing Jimmy Venables) and Celia Imrie (playing his mother-in-law, Diana) as they unite in a bid to share not only parental duties but also the family home while Jimmy's ex-wife is overseas.

Dani Harmer, star of Tracy Beaker, will also return to screen as Jimmy's smart-talking daughter, Molly, alongside Ryan Sampson as Jimmy's brilliantly, eccentric son, Alex.

Peter Fincham, Controller, 麻豆社 One, says: "Comedy is really hitting its stride on 麻豆社 One, with the return of Jam And Jerusalem, Not Going Out and now a new commission for After You've Gone. The comedy strategy of commissioning pilots is delivering for 麻豆社 One audiences."

After You've Gone has been recommissioned by Peter Fincham, Controller, 麻豆社 One, and Cheryl Taylor, 麻豆社 Controller, Comedy Commissioning.

After You've Gone is a 麻豆社 Production, created by Fred Barron (creator of My Family), produced by Rosemary McGowan, with Kenton Allen, 麻豆社 Creative Head of Comedy Talent and Comedy North, as executive producer.

The writing team includes: Ian Brown, James Hendrie, Andrea Solomans, Dan Tetsell, Katie Douglas and Steve and Jim Armogida.

The sitcom is the latest comedy to return to the channel for a second outing following the recommissioning of Jam And Jerusalem and Not Going Out, both set to transmit later this year.

麻豆社 One sees the return of viewers' favourite, My Family, on Friday 6 April 2007.

And two of comedy's biggest names, Harry Enfield and Paul Whitehouse, are on 麻豆社 One in their sharp new sketch show Ruddy Hell! It's Harry And Paul on Friday 13 April.

Later this year, the channel will give a warm welcome to one of Britain's best contemporary comic performers, British-Iranian comedian Omid Djalili, in his self-penned, stand up and sketch show, The Omid Djalili Show.
