John Sessions & Ronni Ancona

Ronni Ancona & Co – brand new sketch show coming to Â鶹Éç One

Following her acclaimed sketch show partnerships in The Big Impression, with Alistair McGowan, and The Sketch Show, with Lee Mack and Tim Vine, Ronni Ancona is branching out on her own in a series of three special episodes of Ronni Ancona & Co on Â鶹Éç One.

Ìý

In her brand new series, the character actress and multi-faceted mimic takes a side-swipe at the celebrity masses and unleashes a host of unique and eccentric characters.

Ìý

Featuring a blend of character sketches and celebrity impersonations, Ronni is joined by some special guest stars – including John Sessions (Stella Street), Jan Ravens (Dead Ringers), Phil Cornwell (Comic Strip) and Emily Woof (Born Equal) - as well as a regular company of actors and comedians including Conleth Hill (Stones In His Pockets), John Marquez (Suburban Shootout), Daisy Haggard (Man Stroke Woman), Josefina Gabrielle (Auf Wiedersehen Pet ) and Alex Lowe (Monkey Trousers).

Ìý

Ronni's new collection of characters include The Scary Woman, a teacher on the verge of a nervous breakdown; Britain's bitchiest airport security guard; and the flamboyant Miffy Toffle.

Ìý

Her featured celebrity impressions include the married life of Tom and Katie Cruise; Kate Moss and Pete Doherty relaxing at home; Amy Winehouse visiting her famous friends; the advertising fame of Penelope Cruz, Andie McDowell and Nicole Kidman; plus the numerous clients at the soon-to-be infamous Friary Clinic.

Ìý

Ronni said: "The show is an eclectic mix of characters and impressions, which is something I've always wanted to do. And it's has been a fantastic opportunity to work with other artists who I greatly admire."

Ìý

Ronni Ancona & Co is the fourth series to be commissioned from the six comedy pilots announced last year by Peter Fincham, Controller of Â鶹Éç One, and Lucy Lumsden, Controller of Comedy Commissioning.

Ìý

Ronni Ancona & Co is written by Ronni Ancona and Alan Francis with contributions from Alex Lowe and Julian Dutton.

Ìý

The series is directed by Ed Bye and produced by Jo Sargent. Filming was on location and at Ealing Studios for transmission later in 2007.
