announces Fairy Tale commission

麻豆社 Drama Northern Ireland today announces the commission of Fairy Tales, an anthology of four contemporary adaptations of classic fairy tales.
听
Debbie Horsfield (Cutting It) will adapt The Emperor's New Clothes; Jeremy Dyson (The League Of Gentleman) will adapt Billy Goat Gruff; Ed Roe (Smack The Pony, Teachers, No Angel) will adapt Rapunzel.

One further writer and story will be announced at a later date.

Patrick Spence, Head of Drama, 麻豆社 Northern Ireland, said: "We're in seventh heaven with this commission. Four great writers bringing four great stories to life in a thoroughly modern way. But best of all, we're going to shoot them all in Northern Ireland, and show what an utterly beautiful country it is."

Casting and filming will commence in Summer 2007 and Fairy Tales will transmit in Autumn 2007.

A Hat Trick/麻豆社 Northern Ireland Production for 麻豆社 One, to be produced by Hannah Pescod and executive produced by Mark Redhead, Fairy Tales will be shot in Northern Ireland with the support of the Northern Ireland Film and Television Commission. 听
