Ric Bailey has been appointed as the 麻豆社's Chief Political Adviser.

He will leave his post as Deputy Head of Political Programmes to take over the role from David Jordan, who became 麻豆社 Controller of Editorial Policy in December 2005.

Ric Bailey has been the Executive Editor for Question Time for the past six years, overseeing programmes such as the leaders' election special and editions from China, Russia, the Middle East, the United States and across the UK.

He also developed and led the Schools Question Time Challenge project, a citizenship initiative which saw the first member of the public on the panel of Question Time earlier this month.

Previously Ric Bailey was Editor of Political Newsgathering and before that a political and parliamentary correspondent for network television and radio.

He will join the Editorial Policy team at the beginning of September.

The Chief Political Adviser is the reference point within the 麻豆社 for advising programme makers on impartiality, political and parliamentary coverage, elections, opinion polls on voting intentions and all other issues concerning politics and elections contained within the 麻豆社 Editorial Guidelines.
