Â鶹Éç and ITV agree plans for World Cup 2006 coverage

Â鶹Éç and ITV Â鶹Éç can today confirm plans for shared coverage of the 2006 World Cup Finals in Germany.

Ìý

Live coverage of England's group games will be split between the two broadcasters as follows:

Ìý

10 June - Â鶹Éç - England v Paraguay

Ìý

15 June - ITV - England v Trinidad & Tobago

Ìý

20 June - ITV - England v Sweden

Ìý

Â鶹Éç will then take first pick of games from the 'round of 16' knockout stage, with ITV taking picks two and three.

Ìý

The remaining 'round of 16' games will be split between the two broadcasters on a one-by-one basis.

Ìý

Â鶹Éç will take first and fourth pick of quarter final games, with ITV taking picks two and three.

Ìý

If England reach the semi-final stage, both Â鶹Éç and ITV will show the game live, with ITV showing the remaining semi-final exclusively.

Ìý

If England do not reach the semi-final stage, ITV will have first pick of the semi-final games, with Â鶹Éç broadcasting the other match.

Ìý

Both broadcasters will show the World Cup final live.

Roger Mosey, Â鶹Éç Director of Sport, said: "We are delighted that we will be showing England's opening game against Paraguay, and potentially their first two knock-out games.

"There will be more television, radio and new media coverage of this World Cup than ever before and we're confident audiences will have a great choice of viewing."

Mark Sharman, ITV Director of Sport, said: "We are very pleased to have reached an agreement that gives ITV guaranteed coverage of two England group games, in particular a peak time group decider against Sweden.
