Alan Brown returns to Â鶹Éç as Editor, Factual Entertainment

Alan Brown is returning to the Â鶹Éç as Editor, Factual Entertainment, after one year at independent production company TalkbackTHAMES where he was Head of Factual and Comedy Entertainment and is currently executive producing The Apprentice.

Alan will join the department in mid-February and will be responsible for a range of factual entertainment shows.

Ìý

Factual Entertainment is the home of successful series including Dragon's Den (Â鶹Éç TWO); Honey We're Killing the Kids (Â鶹Éç THREE/Â鶹Éç ONE); and the upcoming Millionaire's Challenge (Â鶹Éç TWO).

David Mortimer, Â鶹Éç Creative Head of Factual Entertainment, made the appointment.

He says: "Alan is one on Britain's most creative programme makers. He was the brains behind the fantastically successful I Love... brand and has an incredible CV. The Â鶹Éç is his natural home and we welcome him back."

Alan Brown says: "I've thoroughly enjoyed my year in the independent sector but this is an opportunity I couldn't refuse. I passionately believe that the Â鶹Éç offers me the most creative environment in television.

Prior to joining TalkbackTHAMES, Alan was Senior Commissioning Executive, Â鶹Éç Entertainment, and executive produced the first series of The Apprentice and commissioned the first series of Dragon's Den and Britain's Best Sitcoms.

As Editor, Â鶹Éç Documentaries and Contemporary Factual between 2002 and 2003, Alan worked on the hugely successful Great Britons for Â鶹Éç TWO and whilst Executive Producer, Factual Entertainment based in Manchester, created and oversaw the I Love... brand.

Millionaire's Challenge has just gone into production for Â鶹Éç TWO. Mega-rich entrepreneurs will have to prove they still have the Midas touch by doing it all over again.

Ìý

Each will be stripped of all the trappings of their luxury lifestyle and given just £5,000 to start a new business from scratch.

Ìý

The show will see who comes out on top and the losers will have to have to hand over every penny they've made in the series.
