Helen Batt from Ashford has won the 麻豆社 South East
Today photography competition.
听
Helen's picture of a 'base jumper' at Beachy Head was the Viewer's
Choice, following an online vote on 麻豆社 Radio Kent and 麻豆社 Southern
Counties websites.
听
Over 800 people entered the competition, Out of Hours - capturing the
people of Kent, Surrey and Sussex enjoying their free time - which launched
on 麻豆社 South East Today, 麻豆社 Radio Kent and 麻豆社 Southern Counties Radio
on March 18.
听
Judging the competition was Fleet Street's first female sports photographer,
Hy Money; Peter Lindsey, Group Editor
of Herald Newspapers; and Martin Saggers, fast bowler
for KCCC and England.
听
The judges whittled down the entries to nine finalists, and the winner
was then chosen by an online vote.
听
As well as the prestigious title of 麻豆社 South East Photographer
of the Year, Helen has also won the chance to refine her technique
by spending a day with sports photographer Hy Money.
听
All nine finalists, together with the winner of the Under 16 category,
will form part of an exhibition which will travel around the southeast
over the next few months.
