Spooks interactive has picked up the judges Grand Prix award at the third International iTV Awards at a ceremony in the Grand Hotel Majestic in Cannes.

The award is the second major win for the Â鶹Éç's interactive service in as many months, following its recent interactive Bafta win in February.

Providing Spooks' viewers with an extra dimension to the television experience, the interactive service invited digital viewers to train as a MI5 agent by undertaking a series of 'training sessions' through their remote control.

Sophie Walpole, Head of Interactive Drama & Entertainment, whose team created the service, says: "We are really delighted that all the hard work that went into this ground-breaking service has been acknowledged with this prestigious award.

"Interactive Drama and Entertainment have been put on the map and there's so much more to come."

Organised by AFDESI, the French Association for Interactive TV, the international awards recognise interactive applications from terrains which include the USA, South Africa and Australia, as well as Europe.

The Â鶹Éç beat stiff competition from Sky Interactive and Discovery to win the Games category, before being announced Grand Prix winner, a title award by AFDESI members only.
