Press accreditation for the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 opens today.

The deadline for applications is 5 April 2005.

Ìý

Following an epic battle in the tabloids, and an electrifying performance on 5 March, the nation chose Javine and her song Touch My Fire to go forward as the UK's entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005.

Ìý

To help celebrate its 50th Anniversary, a record number of countries - 39 in total - will compete to take home the coveted title.

Ìý

Kicking off events will be the Semi-Final on Thursday 19 May.

Ìý

The top 10 countries then go through to the Grand Final on Saturday 21 May and join 14 other countries who have a guaranteed place in the final - including the UK.

Ìý

Paddy O'Connell commentates from Kiev on the Semi-Final which is broadcast live and exclusively on Â鶹Éç THREE.

Ìý

Terry Wogan provides his usual irreverent commentary at The Grand Final Eurovision for Â鶹Éç ONE on Saturday 21 May.

Ìý

The final will also be broadcast on Â鶹Éç Radio 2.
