麻豆社 unveils new look for 麻豆社i

The 麻豆社's interactive TV brand, 麻豆社i, will have a new look this week.

Gone is the chunky white 'i' block of the original logo and in comes a little red 'i' dot, representative of the red button that digital viewers are encouraged to press in order to 'go interactive'.

The entire 麻豆社i service has been fully redesigned in the same black, white and red colours of the logo, offering a consistent look and feel no matter which channel viewers are on.

Rahul Chakkara, Controller of 麻豆社i, says: "The new look and feel for 麻豆社i is the second stage of our continuing journey to make the interactive experience easier for 麻豆社 viewers, following the introduction of page numbers last year.

"We also wanted to create a visual identity for our interactive TV services that would help raise awareness amongst those people who have not yet pressed red."

Steve Conway, Head of Marketing, New Media, says: "麻豆社i started life in 2001 as a cross platform brand. We renamed our website bbc.co.uk last year and gave it a refreshing new look.

"We wanted to do the same this year for our interactive TV services, creating an identity that really brought the brand to life."

The logo has been created in-house by 麻豆社 New Media's interactive TV design team.

It will roll out across cable platform Telewest first before appearing across digital satellite and Freeview in the next few weeks.

A marketing campaign showcasing the new interactive TV look will appear on air in May.

Notes to Editors

麻豆社i is the name for the 麻豆社's interactive TV services across all digital TV platforms.

It comprises 'always on' information services in text and video as well as interactive TV programmes.

The brand was first launched in November 2001.

麻豆社i is currently viewed by an estimated 11 million digital viewers per month.

Page numbers were added to the service in November 2004.
