Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, Friday 24 September 2004, 10.35 pm, Â鶹Éç ONE

Fashion aficionados Trinny & Susannah uncover the secrets of their success – literally – in the fourth show of the new series this Friday.

Ìý

The What Not To Wear presenters – whose fourth series starts on Â鶹Éç ONE on Wednesday – demonstrate the importance of good underwear by taking it off: Susannah, originally wearing 'magic' knickers, takes them off to demonstrate the difference – "I feel so much more secure [with them]."

Ìý

Susannah also challenges Jonathan to guess her bra size by feel: "‘Is Jane [Goldman] bigger or smaller than me?"

Ìý

"I enjoyed that a lot," commented Jonathan. "So did we!" said Susannah.

Ìý

The girls give their reactions to their fellow guests' sartorial style. On Robbie Williams: "You're too sexy to make it look bad!" And they admire his hirsute looks, asking whether he'd ever removed his chest hair – "I tried taking it off," he revealed, "but it gets all zitty!"

On Paul Bettany: "It's rare for a man with red hair to look as good as that."

Ìý

But they reserve their sharpest comments for Jonathan: "This is a disappointment Â… you should shave your head, get a tattoo and find your maleness" is their advice.

Ìý

They also blame men for women's lack of fashion savvy: "One thing we discovered is how many English men don't give their wives enough confidence" Â… "we uncover how women are emotionally, and reveal to them how they try and disguise their feelings by the way they dress."

Ìý

Jonathan also welcomes to the show Wimbledon star Paul Bettany; Cybill Shepherd, whose one-woman show Cybill Disobedience opens at the Soho Theatre on Monday; and Robbie Williams, performing live in the studio his new single Radio and a rendition of classic hit Angels.
