Alan Titchmarsh
is to share his passion for 20th century collectables in a new Antiques
Roadshow-style series for Â鶹Éç ONE.

The 20th Century Roadshow aims to build on the
success of the Antiques Roadshow by putting contemporary collectables
under the microscope.
Ìý
Alan says: "I am looking forward tremendously to
presenting this series because of my own particular interest in 20th
century collectables – from old motor cars to signed photos of
film stars."
Familiar faces from the roadshow team of experts will be joined by 20th
century experts as they travel across the country scrutinising precious
pieces - from kid's collections of Pokemon cards to lava lamps and grandma's
art deco jewellery.

Filming starts in October 2004.

Executive producer Simon Shaw said: "The fascination
of the 20th century is that this is very much a living archive, a period
we can all get nostalgic about.
Ìý
"We're all about to learn what we shouldn't have
thrown away!"
Ìý
The series, which is due to transmit on Â鶹Éç ONE next
year, will complement the highly successful Antiques Roadshow, currently
enjoyed by over nine million viewers to Â鶹Éç ONE.
