Alex Jones-Donelly, Head of Music and Live Music, Radio 1, said: "We're really pleased with the line up for One Big Weekend.

"UK music is in a very healthy state at the moment and that's why it's fantastic that we've been able to deliver a wholly UK and Republic of Ireland line up on the Sunday as well as all the amazing DJs on Saturday."

"The city already has a great reputation for hosting successful major events and this will help to further raise the city's profile, with people attending from the city, the region and beyond."

The One Big Weekend ticketed event will be free to attend and 12,000 tickets will be available for each day.

Ìý

Radio 1 will host two special ticket giveaways on Saturday 11 September for the dance day and Sunday 12 September for the bands day at Millennium Point, Birmingham to give everyone the chance to get hold of the biggest ticket in town.
