Jason Carter, Executive Producer, Live events, Radio 1, said: "We always have a great summer of live music on Radio 1 but we wanted to expand it this year so there was something happening every single month.

"We were also keen to develop some new events for our younger audience.

"When you combine the Radio 1 staged events with all the gigs and festivals we will be broadcasting from it looks like being a very busy year for us".

Full details for each of the events will be announced on air on Radio 1 throughout the year with further information available on the website
