麻豆社 Radio 1 announces brand new daytime show

Radio 1's rising star DJ, Colin Murray, will be taking over the key Saturday morning slot (10.00am-1.00pm) from 29 March.

Colin will be joined by fresh Radio 1 recruit Edith Bowman who will co-host the show.

Colin and Edith are a further strength to Radio 1's re-freshed weekend line up which recently included the signing of new radio talent Wes to host the Official Chart Show.

Colin and Edith, both massive music fans and gig fanatics, will front a show which will feature great new music, competitive banter and a healthy dose of filthy gossip.

Colin said: "Obviously, it's nice to work with Bowman at Radio 1 because we're good mates. I think, however, the show will only work if she sleeps over at mine on a Friday (cough).

"I'd like to think the show will suit everyone from the football fan to the eager shoppers. We aim to take things as far as we can during daylight hours. It'll be a world away from Planet Showbiz."

Edith said: "It's a childhood dream to work on Radio 1 and I'm really looking forward to working with Colin again. To say we're a little bit excited is an understatement!"

Andy Parfitt, Controller Radio 1, said: "I'm delighted for Colin - Radio 1 has supported him from the start - he brings that magical combination of a passion for new music wedded to a capacity for great entertainment.

"Equally, Edith is the perfect on air partner for Colin - she's energetic and gets our young audience completely."
