WORLD SERVICE

麻豆社 World Service compiles first ever international top ten of favourite songs

麻豆社 World Service has launched a unique quest to find the world's favourite songs.

It is celebrating its 70th anniversary this December with a mega global music poll which will identify the world's favourite talent 聳 local as well as international.

麻豆社 World Service is asking its 150 million listeners to vote for their favourite songs, creating the ultimate World's Top Ten.

The final chart will run on the 麻豆社 World Service programme, Wright Round the World, on Saturday 21 December and will also be broadcast across language sections.

The 麻豆社 World Service is asking everyone to vote for the World's Top Ten, from Azerbaijan to Zimbabwe.

To make sure everybody has a chance, votes are accepted by post and electronically via a dedicated website - .

The website will detail the most popular nominations, identify musical trends and highlight the most exciting choices.

30-second tasters of the final World's Top Ten will also be available via the site.

麻豆社 World Service 70th Project Editor, David Stead, says this is a fun way to celebrate the anniversary and engage the audience all over the world.

"This is hugely exciting. We don't think this has ever been done before. Music is a universal language and to find out what the world's favourite songs are will be really fascinating," he says.
