A new trading card game based on the popular CÂ鶹Éç wildlife series Deadly 60 launches across the UK on 25 August, publisher Â鶹Éç Magazines announced today.
Deadly 60 is one of CÂ鶹Éç's most popular factual programmes, in which wildlife presenter Steve Backshall tracks down the world's deadliest animals. Aimed at 6-12 year olds, the trading card game comprises 165 cards featuring pictures and facts on the creatures from the first two series of the show. The cards will be sold in packs of eight, which children can collect, trade and play games with. The collection includes Rare shiny cards and Super Rare Rainbow shiny cards as well as deadly Skull cards, which act as jokers in game-play.
Ceri Murray, Head of Partworks & Collectibles for Â鶹Éç Magazines, says: "Deadly 60 has been a fantastic success on CÂ鶹Éç, encouraging children to find out more about the world's deadliest creatures. We are very excited and confident that this new, fun educational, trading card game brings something new to this hugely popular sector of the market."
Marketing activity around the launch of the card game includes sampling in other Â鶹Éç and Egmont children's titles, adverting across the Â鶹Éç Magazines' portfolio. There will also be online promotions and competitions.
Packs will retail at 99p each. They will be available from 25 August in independent retailers and other major retail groups across the UK, including Tesco.
NOTES TO EDITORS
