Christopher Eccleston first appeared as the Doctor in 2005 when the popular series was brought back to our screens after a 16-year break. After the first series, David Tennant took up the gauntlet to became the new Time Lord alongside Billie Piper as the memorable Rose Tyler. The Doctor has since continued to enthrall audiences with his riveting adventures travelling through time and space accompanied by other companions such as the feisty Martha Jones (Freema Agyeman) and Donna Noble (Catherine Tate) in multi-award winning episodes and Christmas Specials.
