Charlie and Lola Earns 2008 Daytime Emmy® Award Nomination

Charlie and Lola (Tiger Aspect Productions), featuring the world's most lovable – and hilarious – siblings and seen every day on Disney Channel's Playhouse Disney, has been nominated for a Daytime Emmy® Award for "Outstanding Children's Animated Program" by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

The beloved, critically-acclaimed series is in impressive company, receiving its Emmy® nomination alongside other highly-regarded animated children's programs such as Curious George and Arthur.Ìý

The winners of the 35th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards will be announced live on ABC from Hollywood's famed Kodak Theatre at 8:00 p.m. ET on June 20, 2008.

The beloved preschool series follows the "small and very funny" four-year-old Lola and her loving seven-year-old brother, Charlie, as together they solve those everyday issues that face every 4 to 6 year old child, not liking tomatoes or not wanting to go to bed.

Charlie always manages to come up with a creative solution to help her see a different point of view.

The siblings are joined by Lotta, Marv and his dog Sizzles, plus their various friends and neighbors.

Viewers accompany the adorable duo as their imagination is allowed to run free.

Based on books by noted British author Lauren Child, produced by Tiger Aspect Productions and distributed by Â鶹Éç Worldwide, the stunning series features a unique "collage" animation style which captures the liveliness and tone of the original books.


A favorite with fans and critics alike, Charlie and Lola, has already received numerous awards worldwide, including in the UK, France and Italy.

Most recently, the program has been nominated for a BANFF World Television Award 2008, won a British Animation Award for Best Preschool Series in March 2008 and a BAFTA Award for Pre-School Animation in September 2007.

In the U.S., children and families can tune in to the show on weekdays at 10:00 a.m. and weekends at 11:30 a.m. on Disney Channel's Playhouse Disney preschool programming block.
