Balamory goes interactive with PC title from 麻豆社 Multimedia

麻豆社 Worldwide's award-winning software publishing division, 麻豆社 Multimedia, is releasing a PC CD-ROM game based on 麻豆社's popular soap for pre-schoolers, Balamory.

The PC title is due to be launched on February 27, 2004, and follows the success of 麻豆社 Worldwide's Balamory videos and DVDs, which sold nearly 21,000 copies in the first week of release.

麻豆社 Multimedia has contracted BAFTA award-winning, Glasgow-based Absolute Studios to develop the interactive game which, through the themes of role play and adventure, is set to help children develop key skills including spelling and letter recognition, matching numbers and recognising familiar character and objects.

Ever since the BAFTA nominated Balamory first aired in Autumn 2002, the daily adventures of the residents of the fictional Scottish island along with songs, poems, dances have charmed and delighted the nation's children. The colourful town of Tobermory, on the Isle of Mull where it is filmed, has experienced a large increase in visitors hoping to catch sight of some of their favourite characters.

Dave Lee, 麻豆社 Worldwide's Director of Multimedia, said: "Balamory has been phenomenally popular with both children and parents. It's with this kind of TV programming that we have the expertise to create a really great interactive product that will entertain and educate its key audience."

The PC CD-ROM title includes a range of video clips from the series, an art package, plus the following activities:
