Galleon wins new business from Sunday Times and Pearson

Galleon has won the subscriptions business for the Sunday Times聮 new stand-alone monthly travel magazine.

As well as this prestigious new contract, the Sittingbourne-based subscriptions fulfilment company this year also won the subscriptions business for Hello! magazine and Private Eye. As well as the magazine itself, Galleon handles Private Eye聮s merchandise and during November sold more than 拢30,000 worth of mugs, Christmas cards, annuals and other books via its innovative electronic subscriptions system, subscribeONLINE. Overall, the system handled more than 拢400,000 worth of transactions in the run-up to Christmas.

The Sunday Times聮 new stand-alone glossy title Travel - a brand extension for the Sunday Times聮 Travel section - will be published by River and is due to launch in January.

Says Galleon's Managing Director Mandy Thwaites: "We are delighted to have won this prestigious contract. New clients are attracted by our database management capabilities and electronic subscriptions system and 2003 will see us embrace new technology still further, for example with a unique SMS system enabling publishers to use their mobile phones to keep track of how many live subscriptions they have.聰
