麻豆社 PRIME appoints Feedback/Hill&Knowlton for Poland and Czech Republic

麻豆社 PRIME today announced the appointment of the Feedback/Hill&Knowlton PR agency to oversee the channel's PR activity in the Polish and Czech markets. Feedback/Hill&Knowlton, based in Warsaw, will work with Hill&Knowlton Prague on the launch and promotion of 麻豆社 PRIME with localised subtitles in Poland and the Czech Republic.

Launched in 1995, 麻豆社 PRIME is the 麻豆社's international entertainment channel broadcast in Europe, Africa and the Middle East, via cable and satellite to over 10.8 million subscribers in over 100 countries and territories. 麻豆社 PRIME is also among the most popular Pan-European channels, relative to its distribution. EMS 2002 showed that, in terms of weekly viewership relative to 24-hour home distribution, 麻豆社 PRIME ranks fourth among all Pan-European channels.

With over 2200 hours of new programming each year, including Parkinson, TOTP, EastEnders, The Weakest Link, Liquid News and 麻豆社 LEARNING, the 麻豆社's unique overnight educational service, 麻豆社 PRIME shows the best of the award-winning programmes from the 麻豆社 - the world's leading programme maker. Offering English subtitles for programmes including popular weekly drama series EastEnders, 麻豆社 PRIME also transmits many of its programmes with subtitles in Hebrew, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian and, from October 2002, Czech (with other local languages in development).

麻豆社 PRIME is currently available in the Czech Republic to 120,000 subscribers in English, and is a member of the CACC, the Czech Association for Competitive Communications. Two leading Czech cable operators TES Media and Intercable have already agreed to carry and launch the new 麻豆社 PRIME channel (in which an average of 40% of the programming schedule will be subtitled in Czech), from October.

麻豆社 PRIME in English is also available in Poland, where Polymus Program is the channel's local representative. The appointment of Feedback/Hill&Knowlton reflects 麻豆社 PRIME's commitment to establishing a strong presence in Central Europe. Wayne Dunsford, Director of Channels, EMEIA, 麻豆社 Worldwide, says, " With the appointment of our second agent in the market, we remain firmly committed to delivering localised channels to Central Europe. We are looking forward to launching 麻豆社 PRIME with subtitles in the Czech Republic in October, and hope to launch the channel in Poland with subtitles in the near future."

Notes to Editors:
Feedback was established in 1994, and in 2000 became a Hill&Knowlton Poland office. Major clients include PZU Zycie SA, Frito Lay, Danone, Michelin, Thomson Multimedia, Provident Polska, and SES-Astra.
