麻豆社 Worldwide appoints Director, News and Current Affairs

Mark Reynolds has been appointed by 麻豆社 Worldwide to the new position of Director, News & Current Affairs, with effect from 1.5.02.

Reporting to 麻豆社 Worldwide's Director of International Television, Mike Phillips, Mark will maximise business opportunities by developing 麻豆社 Worldwide's relationship with the 麻豆社 Current Affairs Group. He will also work closely with 麻豆社 News; the 麻豆社 Commercial Agency; and 麻豆社 Worldwide's regional sales teams to identify and pursue new opportunities, and to raise the profile of News and Current Affairs output within the company.

Mark joins from 麻豆社 Worldwide Americas, where he was Vice-President, Co-productions and Sales for factual programming. Prior to joining the New York-based 麻豆社 Sales Company in 1998, he held a number of marketing and business development roles within 麻豆社 Worldwide. Working closely with the 麻豆社 Natural History Unit, he was responsible for raising co-production finance for a number of major landmark series including: The Blue Planet, Life in the Freezer, The Life of Birds and the 麻豆社 Wildlife Specials. Mark also played a key role in setting up 麻豆社 Worldwide's ground-breaking joint venture with Discovery Communications Incorporated.

Mike Phillips said "Mark's track record during his time in the Commercial Agency and his more recent experience in the US market, working across the F&L output, make him the ideal candidate to develop our News & Current Affairs business."
