Lightning strikes at MipTV
A groundbreaking
pre-teen, action-comedy Ace Lightning (26 x 24') heads up 麻豆社 Worldwide's
2002 children's programme slate at this year's MipTV (April 15-19).
麻豆社 Worldwide has already concluded major pre-sales with TVNZ New
Zealand and SIC Portugal.
Ace
Lightning is a 麻豆社 and AAC KIDS聶 co-production that uses cutting-edge
technology to combine live-action and computer generated animation.
麻豆社 Worldwide holds all worldwide rights to the series (including
publishing, merchandising and licensing) excluding North America
where AAC KIDS聶 holds television distribution and video game
rights.
"Ace
Lightning is a completely different kind of television show for
children aged six to 12; I don't think they'll have seen anything
like it before," said Rick Siggelkow, Executive Producer and
VP, Children's Programming, 麻豆社 Worldwide Americas. "There
are many strands and elements in the show which this audience can
enjoy. Not only is there the novelty of a live-action cast of kids
and adults interacting on screen with animated characters, the storylines
also embrace the traditional battle of good versus evil and the
challenges of being a teenager befriended by a superhero. It is
a winning combination."
Newly
arrived in North America from England, Mark is playing his favourite
"Ace Lightning" game when lightning strikes his house.
Electricity surges into the computer and the game's characters come
to life. Ace Lightning - the game's hero - believes the real world
is a new level of the game, and enlists Mark to help him defeat
the evil Lord Fear and his gang. All the while, Mark tries to juggle
a normal family life and a new school and friends.
Ace
Lightning is expected to air in the UK on C麻豆社 in Autumn 2002.
