麻豆社 World signs broadband deal with Sweden's B2

麻豆社 World, the 麻豆社's 24 hour international news and information channel, has signed a major broadband agreement in Sweden. The deal sees 麻豆社 World streamed 24 hours a day on the closed circuit broadband network offered by B2, the Swedish broadband company. 麻豆社 World is now available to the 77,000 subscribers connected to B2's network through their PC.

麻豆社 World broadcasts to over 200 million households across 200 countries and territories worldwide. The channel offers half-hourly news reports every weekday, extended business coverage, sports updates and weather, as well as the best of the 麻豆社's current affairs, documentary and lifestyle programming.

Gerry Ritchie, Head of Network Development, 麻豆社 World, said of the deal, "麻豆社 World has developed a considerable experience in streaming the channel to international audiences. This deal with B2 represents a major step forward in the commercialisation of streaming content. We're delighted to be part of B2's offering in Sweden."

Simon Gate, head of content at B2, said, "We are indeed both proud and happy to see 麻豆社 World as our partner in launching TV via true broadband. The 麻豆社 needs no further introduction as a news and entertainment provider, but it is also an entrepreneurial and pragmatic organisation in exploring new platforms and distribution channels. As such they are a natural partner to B2 in our further expansion of video services via broadband."
