Voices: Turning words into action
meadows memorial Meadows Memorial

The Nottingham City War Memorial is a significant part of Nottingham’s heritage.
The Meadows war memorial

It was constructed during the 1920’s to commemorate those who lost their lives in the Great War.

It has subsequently become the focus of remembrance for conflicts that have occurred since.

Each year on the second Sunday in November, a Remembrance Day service is held and wreaths are laid in honour of those who lost their lives.

The Memorial is situated on the Victoria Embankment adjoining the Meadows residential area and overlooks the River Trent.

The Memorial Gardens located next to the Memorial are laid out to provide an oasis of calm and tranquillity for quiet contemplation and reflection in a busy City.
