I am the reigning Miss Nottingham and will be
representing our wonderful county in the Miss England Finals in
October this year.Ìý
My mum originally entered me into the Miss Nottingham competition,
way back in September 2002.
Miss Nottingham was my first competition, my second
being Miss England in October!
Why enter...
I entered the competition initially for fun - I absolutely loved
every second of it.
I would be extremely proud to be crowned Miss England, as proud
as I am to be representing Nottingham in this competition.
On those opposed to beauty contests...
I believe each individual has a right to their own opinion, as indeed
I do, if they oppose beauty competitions, it is their right as it
was mine to enter.
This Ms Nottingham final was friendly.
I was quite dubious as to what the atmosphere might be like. I was
truly amazed. All the girls in the competition were friendly and
open.
I still see a few of them in and around Nottingham, I am very glad
to have met them.
Advice for future contestants...
My advice would be to go for it! Keep your feet fixed firmly on
the ground and smile!
When crowned Miss Nottingham, I had no comprehension of what it
meant... I have soon picked up on that one!
I have met some incredible people and it has opened many doors for
me and I hope that this continues. The more doors the better!
On being a career woman...
It may be thought of as strange being both a career woman and Miss
Nottingham, I find it strange even now. It is more a fairytale dream
come true.
I always wanted to be on stage as a young girl, my dreams changed
as I grew older, changing to that of a career girl, independent
and hard working.
I have been incredibly lucky to be crowned Miss Nottingham and compete
for the Miss England title. It seems that now I can have the best
of both worlds.
I have a huge amount of support and understanding from family, friends
and work colleagues.
Beauty contest answers...
If there's one thing I could change in the world it would be that
Elvis would still be here today!
Seriously though, if I could change one thing.... there really are
too many...
Who would I like to meet most? Elvis... cos he's the KING!
