On stage Nottingham-based singer-songwriter Becky Syson is joined by her band, which includes her guitarist brother Lance.

They've been performing together for a while and Becky (tongue in cheek) thinks she may know why.

"[Lance] just has a thing about singing with his sister... [laughs] But I wouldn't have wanted anyone else."

They're from a musical family.

"My Dad plays guitar and writes his own music. His Dad did, and his Dad before him, it must be the male gene but I got lucky."

Becky has just released an album which has taken her a year to record and produce.

For those keen on pinpointing a particular style or genre, they could have a problem with her album and music.

"It's always hard to categorise yourself because people really narrow you down.

"A lot of my songs do tell a story, so that's kind of folky. But the style can sometimes be quite rocky."
