The 7:21s formed in August 2004. They include three Daves: Dave Brammer, Dave Reed, Dave Johnstone and one Mike: Michael Smedley.

The novelty of having three band members with the same name isn't lost on their fans.

The band have been noticed by some of the more recognisable names in the music industry, including Oasis founder Alan McGee.

"We were invited to down to play Notting Hill Arts Club for Alan McGee. He was very nice to us and he asked us to go down there, as opposed to us battering him with phone calls."

There was also interest from record label Fierce Panda but The 7:21s in typical down-to-earth Nottingham fashion aren't getting too carried away.

"We get some good attention but it's really early days to be fair. We're progressing with strong reviews - live and with the CD, so that's going really well."

Another big music industry name attached The 7:21s is former Pulp producer Alan Smyth. The band worked with Smyth on their track 'Disco 4000'. Listen to the track:

On Monday 30th October The 7:21s achieved one of their ambitions, playing at Rock City. For Dave Brammer playing at Nottingham's legendary venue was a dream come true.

"I only had two ambitions when we started out, one was to play Rock City and one was to release a single, so 50% out of 20 months is not too bad."
