FACTS

The busiest postal period for the Beeston depot is from Monday 9th to Monday 23rd December.

During its busiest week around 17.1 million items will be handled with over 3.2 million on the busiest day.

This compares to the 10.2 million letters and packets dealt with during a normal week.

2,516 postmen and women deliver to 490,000 delivery points (both business and private).

During the Christmas period around 200 temporary staff are taken on.

The NG (Nottinghamshire) postcode area covers 1,017 square miles.
