There was a brand new theme on Strictly Come Dancing this weekend - Icons week - which saw the celebrities dress up as famous musicians from different eras.

But as Sunday rolled around, it was time for another celebrity elimination.

Presenter and former Team GB hockey player Sam Quek and Olympian Montell Douglas - also known as Fire in Gladiators - ended up in the bottom two this week.

What happened in the Strictly Dance-Off this week?

Sam Quek and her dance partner Nikita Kuzmin danced their American Smooth to Love Story by Taylor Swift in a bid to impress the judges and remain in the competition.

Then, Montell Douglas and her dance partner Johannes Radebe performed their Waltz to I Will Always Love You by Whitney Houston.

After the dance-off, it was time for the four judges to cast their votes.

Craig, Motsi and Anton all chose to save Montell and Johannes, with head judge Shirley Ballas agreeing with their decision.

This meant that Sam became the sixth celeb to leave the show.

When asked by Tess about her time on the show, Sam said: “I’m gutted, I just want to say thank you. I’ve learned so much.

"Strictly has just brought that spring in my step back. It’s just been an absolute joy. I’m gutted because I do feel like I still have more to give,” she explained.

Sam was also full of praise for her dancing partner Nikita.

She added: "Nikita, you’ve been key in helping me find that inner Sam that was there, who went a little bit quiet for maybe one or two years and has just come back."

The remaining nine couples will take to the dancefloor next Saturday when Strictly Come Dancing returns.
