Could a cat from Stevenage have a Christmas number one single?
A friendly cat from Stevenage is releasing a Christmas single.
The cat, four-year-old Nala, is a regular visitor to the train station in Stevenage and her popularity started to grow after travellers began to photograph the ginger tabby, sharing their snaps online.
Taking advantage of her new-found fame, Nala is now entering the music (or should that be mew-sic?) business just in time for Christmas.
Nala's owner, Natasha, says the cat is releasing a single called Meow this week under the name Nala the Station Cat.
The song has been written and produced by musician Danny Kirsch, while Nala is co-credited as a songwriter, as well as vocalist.
The music video, filmed at Stevenage railway station, will be unveiled before Christmas.
"We'll start small and hopefully she gets in the charts, but number one would be fantastic," said Nala's owner Natasha.
Money raised from the single will be donated to the RSPCA and Stevenage homelessness charity Feed Up Warm Up.
Charity campaigners LadBaby have reached the Christmas number one single spot every year for the last five years.
So a number one for Christmas 2023 would be 'purrfect' for Nala, who will be hoping it's 'kitten' in the stars and that anything is 'pawsible'!
Meanwhile, Natasha says Nala has also been approached for a book deal and says "we want to spread the happiness that Stevenage has had."
