New 'Super Mountain' for Wales mapped

Help

Wales has a new "super mountain". Ordnance Survey maps had put Glyder Fawr, in Snowdonia, at 999 metres tall.

But satellite technology has now confirmed it is actually a fraction higher than a thousand metres, putting it in the big league.

It is hoped the new status for the mountain will boost tourism to the area, which can now boast five Super Mountains.
