Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist died in a crash on the A1 near Barton in North Yorkshire.
The incident, involving an orange motorcycle, happened between junctions 56 and 57 at around 21:30 BST on Friday, officers said.
The motorbike, which was travelling southbound, left the carriageway and ended up on the grass verge.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said the male rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
They said no other vehicle was involved in the incident.
They added: "We are appealing to anyone who may have seen the motorcycle and its rider prior to collision, may have relevant dashcam footage, or may have witnessed the collision, to get in touch if they have not already spoken to officers."
The road was closed to allow emergency services to attend and for investigators to examine the scene, but has since reopened.
