Mitcham: Human remains found in south London river

Human remains have been found in a river in south London, the Metropolitan Police has said.
Officers were called to Rawnsley Avenue, Mitcham where the remains were found in the river Wandle by members of the public on Tuesday evening.
No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing into how the person died, with formal identification yet to take place, the force added.
The road will remain shut until the crime scene is closed.
