Organisers of a fireworks display which was cancelled due to safety concerns say a smaller version may return in the future.
Hull Wyke Round Table, a group of volunteers, had been running the event at Humberdale Farm in Swanland.
A spokesperson said: "Post pandemic the numbers attending exploded. We thought something could easily go wrong here and it wasn鈥檛 worth the risk.鈥
"In the future, we may return with a scaled back ticketed event," they added.
Congestion complaints
The pay-on-arrival event had been running for more than 35 years and, at its height, more than 5,000 people attended.
However, Hull Wyke Round Table posted on Facebook this year's event would be cancelled, saying "issues around security and health and safety, as well as traffic congestion through Swanland and on the A164 over the last few years have given us serious cause for concern".
They added: "in terms of safety, the event can no longer continue in its current fashion".
David Sayers, treasurer of Hull Wyke Round Table, said: "We鈥檇 had complaints about congestion in Swanland and parking issues.
"We have considered employing contractors, but there's a cost involved."
Organisers said a change of venue was one of the options being considered for the future.
