The teenager was crossing the road on Raw Lane, Illingworth, on Wednesday evening when he was struck by a car, West Yorkshire Police said.
According to a force spokesperson, the vehicle was turning left onto Raw Lane from Keighley Road at about 19:15 BST, with the boy suffering several injuries including a broken arm.
The car, possibly a black Range Rover, is said to have failed to stop at the scene. Police have asked anyone who witnessed the incident or with video footage of the vehicle involved to contact them.
