Power cut causes major Metro disruption

Metro passengers have faced "major disruption" due to a power cut at a depot.
Service were disrupted following the outage at Gosforth Metro Depot just before 05:00 GMT, according to Tyne and Wear Metro operator Nexus.
Operations director Kevin Storey said it then caused a problem with the service's signalling system.
This meant only a "limited number of trains" were put into service in the morning, he said.
For much of the morning, trains had been only operating from Pelaw to the Airport, and Pelaw to Monkseaton at 20-minute intervals.
Nexus said services resumed to all destinations at 11:15 GMT but that "significant gaps" remained.
"Our team at the Metro control are working with external providers to resolve this," he said.
Mr Storey said he was "grateful" to customers for their patience and apologised for any inconvenience.
