Force refers itself to watchdog over bike crash
A motorcyclist has been left seriously injured after a collision in Pontefract.
West Yorkshire Police said the rider "fell from his bike" in White Apron Street, South Kirkby, shortly before 18:30 BST on Tuesday.
He was taken to hospital with a serious leg injury.
A referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct due to police involvement with the bike prior to the collision, the force said.
Inquiries into the collision remain ongoing.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the vehicle prior is asked to contact West Yorkshire Police.
