Across Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day, Diane Morgan, Courtney Barnett and Zawe Ashton each present three hours of their favourite music (4pm -7pm) as well as selecting an evening's worth of programmes from the 6 Music archives.

Zawe Ashton - Christmas Eve
The actor and director starred in the 麻豆社's Wanderlust earlier this year and recently starred in John Ridley’s 1970s political drama Guerrilla, opposite Idris Elba, Freida Pinto and Babou Ceesay. Previously, she appeared in Tom Ford’s critically acclaimed feature film Nocturnal Animals. In 2012, Zawe was nominated for British Independent Film Awards’ Best Newcomer for Carol Morley’s film, Dreams Of A Life. She is also well known for playing the brilliant Vod in Channel 4's Fresh Meat; other screen credits include Weekender, St Trinian’s II, Blitz and Doctor Who.

Diane Morgan - Christmas Day
Originally from Bolton, the comedy actor and writer is best known for her incarnation of talking head 'Philomena Cunk' which originated on Charlie Booker’s Weekly Wipe tv series. Due to the popularity of the character, the 麻豆社 commissioned two one-off specials fronted by Philomena; the first was the Bafta-nominated Cunk On Shakespeare and the second a festive special, Cunk On Christmas. A five-part 麻豆社 Two series, Cunk On Britain, followed earlier this year. Diane has also starred in the 麻豆社 Two comedy series Motherland opposite Anna Maxwell-Martin and Lucy Punch. The critically acclaimed show was co-written by previous Wise Woman Sharon Horgan.

Courtney Barnett - Boxing Day
The Australian singer-songwriter is known for her plainspoken and witty lyrics. In 2012 Courtney started Milk! Records and released her debut EP, I've Got A Friend Called Emily Ferris. Her second EP, How To Carve A Carrot Into A Rose (2013) received international acclaim, taking her all around the world. Her debut album - Sometimes I Sit And Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit (2015) – was released to widespread acclaim, and in 2016 the musician was nominated for Best New Artist at the Grammy Awards and for International Female Solo Artist at the Brits. Shaun And The Three Brians

TX details: Wednesday 26 December, 1pm-4pm

Join Shaun Keaveny for a science and music special, as he brings together celebrated musician and producer Brian Eno; Professor Brian Cox; and a special mystery Brian for their annual festive show.

Eno, Keaveny and Cox. It may sound like a firm of solicitors, but for one day only they become a 6 Music presenting trio.

Professor Brian Cox has been a regular on Shaun's Breakfast Show for many years with a weekly chat about the latest science stories, answering listener's questions and just talking music. He has enriched the programme with intelligent debate, respected opinion and incredible insight. Aside from perhaps David Attenborough, he is the foremost voice of science on our television screens and his popularity is not just because of his past career as a keyboard player in 90s pop group D:Ream, but rather his evident passion for science and his ability to convey both the complexities and mysteries of the universe to the general public.

Brian Eno is a relative newer friend to the programme. Following his 麻豆社 Music John Peel lecture a few years ago, Brian and Shaun struck up a friendship that saw Brian sending emails to the show and even making some radio jingles in his home studio.

Recorded in Brian Eno's home studio just before Christmas, 6 Music brings together two of the most intelligent and most respected minds in the UK. This will be a programme that celebrates science, discovery and inquisitive minds with the added bonus of a special mystery Brian joining during the programme.
