A virtual visit to our work in Kenya

Hear from our radio mentee and a listener about their experience of climate change in rural Kenya, and how people can learn to cope - by listening to the radio.

The impacts of climate change are with us right now. Among Kenya鈥檚 farmers and pastoralist community, this means drought, a lack of nutritious food, walking farther to find water for people and livestock, more extreme storms and even conflict over scarce resources.

Media and communication have an important role in helping people adapt to climate change, and to find ways to cope. Our climate projects in East Africa include working with local journalists and connecting them with weather and climate scientists, to ensure they are able to impart timely, relevant, understandable information, and to share practical steps for dealing with the changing climate.

In this new film from our 麻豆社 Media Action Kenya team, meet radio producer/presenter Suzanne Mboze Sanga and hear about her passion for her work, the challenges she faces, the benefits of mentoring from 麻豆社 Media Action, and the impact her work has on her listeners.
