I’m Mancunian born and bred and I’ve been watching Manchester City since the early 60s. With that background, can you imagine a better way to make a living than watching and talking about football? It’s the ultimate no brainer.

I've been a presenter with the Â鶹Éç Radio Manchester sports team since the late 80s and I know people would kill for my job. I’d kill me for it!

It’s not just City, of course. Greater Manchester is the absolute heart of English football and it’s been a real privilege to get to know some of the people who make our local teams tick.

Make no mistake, it is all about people. A lot of the focus is on the big earning stars in the Premier League, but I’m often more interested in the people who dedicate huge parts of their lives to the club they love and the financial rewards are usually negligible or even non existent.

My mates often ask me about the famous players I’ve met and interviewed and, of course, it is fun to get the chance to do that, but one of my favourite interviews, ever, was with the late Stan Gibson, the head groundsman at Maine Road. Half an hour of absolute fascination, sat in the home dug out ,and not a superstar footballer in sight.

I love every aspect of this job, especially if I’m at the ground. The pre-match banter in the press room, the build up, the match itself and the post match phone – in. I truly wouldn’t want to be anywhere else on the planet.

I've presented over 700 Saturday Sports and I've never missed one. Why would I? If there is a downside, it can only be that the years go past too quickly, but that’s bound to happen when your job is so much fun.

Away from work, I live with my partner Debbie and kids Louise and Joe in Timperley. Joe is autistic and shows no interest in football or City, but Louise is definitely a Blue.

ÌýI like to go for a few beers with my mates when I get the chance, but, apart from that, I don’t have a hobby – I don’t need one.
