Stars of the future?

After months of gruelling contests the winners of Dagenham鈥檚 Star search competition have been chosen.

Reaching for stars

15 year old Ava Perkins from Hornchurch, and 23 year old Lucy Norris from Buckhurst Hill were overcome with emotion when they heard they'd won.

They'll each go on to record an album, and sing at Dagenham鈥檚 first ever music festival in May.

More than 140听 people turned out to watch the final showdown, and judges say they were amazed by the final standard.

Organiser Keith Rogers from MusicTek told 麻豆社 London the standard was very high:

鈥淲e could not possibly have envisaged the amount of talent that we would see throughout this competition."

He continued: "Anybody who witnessed the final will have been blown away by the standard of singing on show!

听The whole evening was quite breathtaking and it was an unbelievably difficult decision to decide just 2 winners."

So much so that eight runners up will also be given the chance to sing at the music festival.

They'll also be signed to the MusikTek label when it launches later this year.
